Editorial Policies

Focus and Scope

Inquiry is a semi-annual publication affiliated to Faculty of Business and Administration at the International University of Sarajevo in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The journal aims to promote interdisciplinary studies across all areas of social and behavioral sciences, in particular Economics, Business, Administration, International Relations and Political Science. Inquiry is devoted to the improvement and progressive development of theory and practice in the fields listed above, and it tends to help the academics and students in creating own research projects. Inquiry promotes international exchange of knowledge and ideas in research in order to help improve international productivity and competitiveness. A main mission of the journal is to encourage scholarly publications by authors from different sides of the world.

Peer Review Process

Inquiry - Sarajevo Journal of Social Sciences applies double-blind peer-review by two reviewers. Reviewer selection for each submitted article, following the initial review and approval by the editors, is done by the editor-in-chief and reviewers are selected based on their research area, previous experience, competence.

Submission of an article implies that the paper described has not been published earlier, except in a form of an abstract or academic thesis.

Every submitted article is checked by section editor for an initial review. If the paper satisfies criteria and guidelines of the journal, then article is forwarded to two reviewers for evaluation. Inquiry uses double-blind peer review.

The double-blind peer-review process is managed by OJS software platform.


Publication Frequency

Inquiry - Sarajevo Journal of Social Sciences is published twice a year, in summer (June) and winter (December). Deadline for submitting an article is April 1 (Summer Issue) and October 1 (Winter Issue).


Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.



This journal utilizes the LOCKSS system to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration. More...


Journal Ethics

Inquiry provides many benefits for the wider public in terms of open access to the PDF files of published articles, and in terms of encouraging and providing a chance for the authors to publish their papers in this Journal. Therefore, it is expected from all registered users to respect and behave by the ethical guidelines provided by Editorial team of the Inquiry.


Originality and Plagiarism Policy

Authors by submitting their papers to the Inquiry declare that their work is original and authored by them, their work submitted to the Inquiry has not been previously published, original ideas, data, findings and materials taken from other sources (including their own published writing) are properly documented and cited, their work does not violate any rights of others, including privacy rights and intellectual property rights, their data is their won, true and not manipulated. Plagiarism in whole or in part without proper citation is not tolerated by the Inquiry. Manuscripts submitted to the journal will be checked for originality using anti-plagiarism software.
